Diabetes Care

In this module, you will learn how to safely support people living with diabetes through daily care, monitoring, and observation. You will gain an understanding of the importance of blood glucose testing, insulin administration, dietary management, and recognising early warning signs of hypo- or hyperglycaemia. The training also covers how lifestyle, medication, and emotional wellbeing interact in diabetes care, as well as how to accurately record and promptly escalate changes in a person’s condition to clinical staff.

Complex Bowel Care

This module enhances your understanding of bowel anatomy and function, and highlights the importance of consistent bowel routines in maintaining overall health. You will learn to recognise the signs of constipation, impaction, or bowel obstruction, and how to assist with prescribed interventions such as enemas, suppositories, or digital stimulation under clinical guidance. The session also emphasises dignity, privacy, and accurate documentation when managing complex bowel care.

Dysphagia (Swallowing Difficulties)

In this training, you will explore how swallowing works, what causes dysphagia, and how to safely support individuals at risk of aspiration or choking. You will learn to identify signs of swallowing difficulty, understand texture-modified diets and thickened fluids, and apply safe mealtime management techniques using IDDSI guidelines. Enteral Feeding Support

This module focuses on supporting clients who receive nutrition and hydration via percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) or radiologically inserted gastrostomy (RIG) tubes. You will learn about infection control, safe handling of feeds and equipment, correct positioning, and monitoring for complications. The training emphasises the importance of accurate documentation, hygiene, and escalation protocols when changes occur, ensuring clients receive safe and effective enteral feeding support.

Pallitive Care

In the palliative care module, you will learn how to provide compassionate, person-centred care for individuals approaching the end of life. Pressure Care and Wound Management

This module will teach you how to identify pressure injury risks, implement prevention strategies, and assist in wound management. Urinary Catheter Care

Mealtime Management - IDDSI

This module introduces the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework and highlights the importance of mealtime safety for individuals with swallowing difficulties. You will learn how to prepare and identify texture-modified foods and thickened fluids, apply safe feeding techniques, and recognise signs of aspiration risk. The module also covers the significance of individual mealtime management plans and how to work collaboratively with speech pathologists and clinical teams to ensure positive mealtime outcomes.

Medication Competency

This training provides the knowledge and understanding required to safely support medication administration under supervision. You will learn about medication types, the “seven rights” of medication safety, recognising side effects, and the importance of accurate documentation. The course also emphasises your responsibility to promptly report medication errors or omissions and to maintain professional boundaries when supporting clients with their medication routines.

PPE and Hand Hygiene

In this module, you will learn the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and effective hand hygiene techniques.
